StadtmosA.I.k - Show your city with artificial intelligence!

StadtmosA.I.k was imagined and later realized as a browser-based application that helps ordinary citizens in expressing experiences, ideas and needs through the use of generative AI.

As the experts of their own everyday life, citizens have valuable insights in the usage and conditions of the spaces they inhabit. Instead of verbalizing their input, StadtmosA.I.k helps them visualize these insights in generated snapshots, showing not only how a place looks, but also how it is perceived, experienced, lived and used.

By building on the theories of "Placemaking" by the Project for Public Spaces, a practice with decades of research behind it, users are able to show different scenarios, telling visual stories about the core aspects of a given place.

These pictures then show a snapshot of the testing that went into the usage of StadtmosA.I.k as part of citizen participation efforts. In using it alongside others in workshops, it gains a second purpose as a catalyst for deeper conversations about the purpose and future of the spaces that function as the social and recreational centers of urban life.
